George Lake Award 2026

The international committee appointed to select candidates to the George Lake Technology Innovation Award 2026 has evaluated a large number of very strong applications. Upon recommendation by the committee, Fondation Merac has chosen as recipient of the award Dr. Nils Vu.

Dr. Nils Vu

University of Zurich, Department of Astrophysics, Zurich, Switzerland

for his proposed work on numerical relativity simulations of black hole binaries — to elevate numerical relativity to exascale supercomputing and simulate merging black holes for the next generation of gravitational-wave detectors.
